North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays (6-9-0-4) took down the Gwinnett Gladiators (6-9-1-0) 3-2 at the North Charleston Coliseum Saturday afternoon behind goals from forwards Braden Pimm, Patrick Gaul and Brandon Hynes.

Pimm put the Stingrays up 1-0 midway through the first period redirecting a shot from defenseman Guy LeBoeuf past the right pad of Gladiators goaltender Adam Brown (L, 36 saves on 39 shots) at 9:11. The Gladiators tied the contest on the power play at 15:49 when forward Brenden Walker fired a shot past Stingrays netminder Jeff Jakaitis (W, 20 saves on 22 shots) from the left-wing circle.

The Stingrays reclaimed the lead shorthanded at 9:06 when Gaul tucked in a rebound past Brown at the right post off a shot from forward Rob Bellamy. Less than two minutes later, Hynes made it a 3-1 Stingrays lead on the power play tipping in a pass from forward Andrew Cherniwchan on top of the goal crease at 11:05. Forward Wayne Simpson chipped in the second assist.

The Gladiators pulled the game within one late in the third period as forward Dyson Stevenson lifted a drive over the glove of Jakaitis off the right-wing circle at 16:56, but the Stingrays defense stood tall the rest of the way to preserve the win. The Stingrays went 1-for-3 on the power play while the Gladiators went 1-for-6.
