The Stingrays earned a standings point in the loss and are currently on a four-game point streak (3-0-1-0) and are unbeaten in nine of their last 10 contests (8-1-1-0).
The Stingrays jumped on the scoreboard first when forward Caleb Herbert buried his sixth goal of the season ripping a shot under the glove of Solar Bears goaltender Garret Sparks (W, 33 saves on 35 shots) from the left circle at 13:01 of the opening period. Forward Cody Sylvester setup the play off an Orlando turnover. Later in the frame, Stingrays goaltender Jeff Jakaitis (OTL, 22 saves on 25 shots) made a spectacular diving save on Solar Bears forward Patrick Watling to keep the Stingrays in front.
