HEAD TO HEAD - This is the fourth of 16 meetings this season between the Thunder and the Americans. All-time, Wichita is 11-18-3 against Allen and 4-11-1 at the AEC.
TODAY - Wichita makes its first appearance at the Allen Event Center today in a rematch of the 2012-13 CHL Finals. The Thunder played this past Wednesday against Tulsa, coming back to pull out a 2-1 victory at the BOK Center while the Americans have been off since last weekend. The Thunder won the last meeting at INTRUST Bank Arena by the final of 3-1. Allen is led by Jack Combs, who has 39 points in 21 games this season. Wichita is led by Danick Gauthier, who has 25 points and Ian Lowe, who has 21.
REGULATION - Wichita won its first game in regulation at the BOK Center on Wednesday night against Tulsa. The Thunder had to do it in come-from-behind fashion, allowing the first goal in the first six minutes. Mike Wilson and Kirill Tulupov provided the offense, as both goals came from the backend.
GAME CLINCHER - Mike Wilson scored his third of the season Tuesday and has goals in three of the last four. He also recorded the game-winner, which gives him the clinching goal in back-to-back games for the veteran defenseman.
SEVENTH HEAVEN - Tim Boron claimed his seventh win of the season, stopping 29 of 30 shots on net against the Oilers. After allowing the early goal, he clamped down and made some key saves to preserve the Thunder victory. His goals against average dropped to 2.72 and save percentage up to .901.
KILLIN' IT - The Thunder penalty kill went 6-for-6 Wednesday night, improving the road percentage to 17th overall at 79.6%. After allowing goals in consecutive games, Wichita has gone 16-for-16 over the last three contests.
