McGuire's Return Highlights Fuel Roster Moves
December 19, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL)
Indy Fuel News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL's Rockford IceHogs, announced Friday that rookie forward Johnny McGuire, out of action with a broken jaw since October 26th, has been activated from the 21-day IR. Additionally, the Fuel confirmed that forward Jamie Wise has been recalled by Rockford for the second time this season, Klarc Wilson has been suspended for two games by the ECHL and goaltender Eric Levine has been released while fellow backstop Cody Reichard has been activated from the Fuel's reserve list.
A 6'1" 205 lb. right-handed shooter from Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, McGuire appeared in four games for Indy early in the 2014-15 season, earning a -1 rating and nine penalty minutes before suffering a broken jaw in the Fuel's 4-0 home loss to the Fort Wayne Komets on October 26th.
Wise, a 23 year-old rookie out of Stouffville, Ontario, Canada, tallied one goal in two appearances in his first AHL call-up to Rockford and has four points in his column (one goal, three assists) in 15 appearances for the Fuel this season.
The ECHL announced Friday that Wilson, a 6'1", 206 lb. left-handed shooter from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, was suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount following his actions during the Fuel's 6-4 home loss to the Reading Royals on Wednesday. Wilson will miss the Fuel's Friday home game vs. the Toledo Walleye and Indy's Saturday road tilt in Fort Wayne.
After a one-game stint on the ECHL reserve list, Reichard, the Fuel's most-utilized goaltender this season, has been activated for Friday's game vs. Toledo and Levine, a former Robert Morris University backstop, has been released from his ECHL standard player contract.
Next up for the Fuel, it's a Friday clash with the Toledo Walleye on "Walleye Fish Fry" Night at Indiana Farmers Coliseum with the opening faceoff set for 7:35 pm. Prior to the game, enjoy food, drink and special guests at the "Fish Fry," which will be held from 5-7 pm at the Great Hall on the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Then, the first 1,000 ticket holders through the gates with a Toys for Tots donation will receive a free Fuel holiday ornament. For tickets, visit any Ticketmaster outlet, log on to Ticketmaster.com or swing by the Indiana Farmers Coliseum box office during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Full television coverage of Friday's game begins at 7:30 pm on HTSN with Jim Mirabello on the call while radio coverage begins with the "Jose Cuervo Pregame Show" at 7:20 pm on CBS Sports 1430 WXNT-AM, online at cbssports1430.com and on smartphones everywhere via the free "TuneIn" Radio app with Fuel broadcaster Tony Brown providing the play-by-play.
