Stingrays Game Preview: Stingrays Collide with Solar Bears over East Division Points Tonight

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays battle the Orlando Solar Bears tonight at 7:30 at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. Tonight is the sixth of 11 meetings between the two East-Division rivals.

Series Breakdown:

The Stingrays are 2-1-1-1 against the Solar Bears and skated away with a 2-1 victory last Tuesday at the Amway Center. Forwards Patrick Gaul (one goal, four assists) and Wayne Simpson (one goal, four assists) along with defenseman Garrett Haar (four assists) lead the Stingrays against the Solar Bears with four points each. All time, the Stingrays are 13-4-3-3 vs. Orlando.

Light at the End of the Tunnel:

The Stingrays close a four-game road trip on Saturday, February 7 against the Greenville Road Warriors at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina at 7:00.

Simonelli Reassigned:

Yesterday, the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL) reassigned defenseman Frankie Simonelli to the Stingrays. Simonelli skated in two games with the Stingrays at the start of the season adding one assist. In 27 contests with the Bruins, netted two goals and four assists for six points.
