Steve Ott Seeing Stars

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH - The Utah Grizzlies National Hockey League (NHL) affiliate, the Dallas Stars, announced today that they have recalled rookie left wing Steve Ott.

Ott, 20, has played in 26 games for the Grizzlies scoring five goals and adding five assists while registering 62 penalty minutes (fourth on the team). The Summerside, Prince Edward Island native is tied for fourth among American Hockey League (AHL) rookies with four power play goals.

The 6-0, 180-pound left wing was the Star's first round pick (25th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Ott's junior career consisted of 174 games with Windsor of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) where he scored 237 points (116-121-237) and added 473 penalty minutes.

Ott will join the Stars in time for Friday's game when they host the Atlanta Thrashers.
