Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, Idaho - Several members of the Idaho Steelheads will be volunteering for the Red Kettle Bell Ringing at Boise Towne Square today, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to raise money for the Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army provides food for the hungry, companionship to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless, opportunities for underprivileged children, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, and many more services.

Jeremy Mylymok, Captain of the Idaho Steelheads said, "Anytime the team can participate in helping the community, we are happy to do it. The Salvation Army is a very worthwhile program that helps the community in many ways, and we hope people will stop by to say hi and make a donation to the red kettles."

"This is just another wonderful example of community support in action," said Rick Hempsmyer, Director of Development and Community Relations for the Salvation Army of Ada County. " The volunteer efforts today of the Idaho Steelheads will be felt by hundreds of less fortunate families in Ada County."

Each year, 20,000 Salvation Army red kettles serve as collection stations around the nation beginning the day after Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve. Donations to the kettles stay local, supporting programs in the communities in which they were received.
