* Greensboro is 2-0-1 in 2002-03 after 5-3 win at Charlotte on Saturday.
* Checkers rank 25th in the ECHL in goals allowed, averaging 3.90 goals per game.
* Generals' Chris Bell has five points (3g-2a) in three games against Charlotte.
* Charlotte's Dusty Jamieson has three points (2g-1a) in three games against Greensboro.
Pee Dee Pride (12-7-4) at Columbia Inferno (14-8-1) 7:05 ET / 6:05 CT
* Pee Dee is 3-1-0 against Columbia in 2002-03 and 7-5-0 all-time in the regular season.
* Inferno's Justin Morrison has 10 points (5g-5a) in his last five games.
* Pride's Matt Underhill ranks second in the ECHL with a 2.19 goals against average.
* Columbia leads the ECHL on the penalty kill with 93.6 percent (102-for-109).
Mississippi Sea Wolves (15-9-2) at Pensacola Ice Pilots (12-6-4) 8:05 ET / 7:05 CT
* Pensacola is 1-2-1 against Mississippi in 2002-03 and 14-27-3 all-time in the regular season.
* Mississippi's Jim Baxter ranks third among ECHL defensemen in scoring with 25 points (7g-18a).
* Ice Pilots' Maxime Gingras ranks second in the ECHL with a .931 save percentage.
* Sea Wolves' Steffon Walby leads the ECHL with five game-winning goals.
Holmqvist Becomes 201st ECHL Player To Reach NHL
Entering in relief of Dan Blackburn at the beginning of the second period, Johan Holmqvist became the 201st former East Coast Hockey League player to play in the National Hockey League on Wednesday. Holmqvist had 16 saves and allowed two goals in a 4-3 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.
Assigned to Charlotte by Hartford of the American Hockey League, Holmqvist made 43 saves in the Checkers 5-2 win at Augusta on November 8 before being recalled to the Rangers on November 10. Selected by the Rangers in the seventh round (175th overall) in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, In eight games with Hartford, Holmqvist is 4-2-2 with a shutout and a 2.08 goals against average. He was 0-2-0 with a 5.04 goals against average in two games with the Rangers in 2000-01.
There have been 52 former ECHL players that have played in the NHL in 2002-03 and 23 of the 30 teams in the NHL have affiliations with teams in the ECHL. In 2001-02, there were 83 former ECHL players that played in the NHL, including 18 that played in their first NHL game with five of those playing in both the ECHL and NHL during the season.
