Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads announced today they have added Mike Adamek to the roster from Lake Superior State University.

The senior forward became available when Lake Superior State's most-successful season in six years came to an end Saturday with a 1-0 loss to Western Michigan in Game 2 of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association first-round playoffs. After sitting out most of the first semester, the 6-3, 196-pound Adamek scored the game-winning goal in his first appearance - a 2-1 victory over Bemidji State in December. He went on to score a goal in four of his first five games. He has 10 goals and 20 assists in 93 games as a Laker. Adamek hails from Hollister, California and has two brothers who play hockey - one as a Laker teammate and the other for the Northern Michigan Black Bears (NOJHL).

The 24-year-old is expected to dress for the three-game series in Alaska, beginning tonight.

The club also announced today that forward Jeremy Yablonski has been placed on the season-ending injury reserve list following an injury he sustained to his shoulder during the March 4th game against Phoenix at Qwest Arena. Yablonski played three games for the Steelheads, tallied one assist and 25 penalty minutes, after being reassigned to Idaho by the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL) on February 23rd.
