Everblades shuffle players on injured reserve

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president & general manager Craig Brush along with head coach Gerry Fleming announced today that defensemen Ryan Brindley and Martin Tuma have been activated from the injured reserve list and defenseman Nick Harloff along with forward Brandon Coalter have been placed on the IR. As per team policy the injuries were not disclosed.

Brindley returns to the Everblades lineup after suffering an injury on January 28 in Florida's 4-2 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays. The 29-year-old team captain, who has missed the past 15 games, rejoins the lineup having picked up 20 points (4g, 16a) in the 35 games he's played. The Thunder Bay, Ontario native is 24 points shy of his 300th career point and four games away from skating in his 100th as a member of the Everblades.

Tuma, 20, returns to the lineup after being placed on the the 7-day IR on February 4. Tuma has picked up six assists and added 69 penalty minutes in 41 games with the Everblades this season. The former 5th round draft pick by the Florida Panthers in 2003 made his professional debut last season skating in just five games with San Antonio.

Harloff, 21, heads to the IR for the first time since joining the Everblades. The Kitchener, Ontario native originally suffered the injury on March 1 in Florida's 7-3 loss to South Carolina. Since being acquired in a trade with the Stingrays on February 24, Harloff has one assist in three games with the Everblades. Harloff began the season with Columbus of the Southern Professional Hockey League where he tallied two points in 19 games. After being signed by South Carolina in December, the rookie notched seven points (2g, 5a) in 26 games.

Coalter makes his third trip to the IR this season. The 27-year-old has tallied 12 points (4g, 8a) in his 40 games played this season. The former 5th round draft pick of the San Jose Sharks in 1998 has played in 146 career games, all with the Everblades, and has notched 37 points (12g, 25a) and added 338 penalty minutes during his three-year pro career.

The Everblades return to action tonight when they host the Columbia Inferno at 7:30 p.m. at Germain Arena. The first 2,500 fans will receive Set 4 of the Everblades trading card series courtesy of Beef 'O Brady's.
