Fresno Falcons News Release

FRESNO, Calif. - After securing the team's first shutout of the season with a 23-save performance during a 3-0 win over the Dayton Bombers on Tuesday, Fresno Falcons rookie goaltender Jamie Holden was called-up to the Cleveland Barons today for his third stint of the year with Fresno's American Hockey League affiliate. Holden leaves the Falcons with a record of 14-4-3, a 2.60 goals against average and .922 save percentage.

While Fresno lost one player to the AHL, they also gained a player from the next level today when the NHL's New York Islanders re-assigned second-year defenseman Vince Macri from the AHL's Bridgeport (Conn.) Sound Tigers to the Falcons. Macri played last season under head coach Matt Thomas with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies, splitting his time between Atlantic City and Bridgeport. He has appeared in 50 games with the Sound Tigers this year, recording eight points (1g-7a) and 41 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 210 lb. d-man turned pro after playing his collegiate hockey at Brown University.

Macri is slated to make his Falcons debut tonight when the team hosts the San Diego Gulls at Save Mart Center at 7 p.m. The first 3,000 fans will receive a Falcons trading card set courtesy of Heald College, KSEE 24, and 95.7 The Fox.

Tomorrow night at 7 p.m., Fresno welcomes the Phoenix RoadRunners to town for the teams' first-ever meeting at Save Mart Center. The Raiderettes will entertain fans with a performance on the ice during the first intermission and will be available for autographs throughout the game.

Individual tickets are on sale now for both games at all Ticketmaster outlets and Save Mart Center's box office with prices ranging from $8 - $23. For complete ticket information and an arena map of Save Mart Center, visit www.fresnofalcons.com/singletickets.html, or contact the Falcons front office directly at (559) 485-PUCK (7825).
