Stockton, California - Four skaters recorded multiple points as the Steelheads scored four times in the opening nine minutes to blast the Stockton Thunder, 6-2, on Sunday afternoon at Stockton Arena.

The Steelheads complete their four-game, California swing with a 3-0-1 mark, moving three points ahead of the idle Utah Grizzlies for third place in the West Division. Furthermore, the Steelheads won both games of the season in Stockton Arena by a combined score of 10-3.

Just 1:42 into the first period, the Steelheads got on the board as Tyler Kindle netted an even-strength goal. David Bararuk and B.J. Crombeen recorded the helpers on Kindle's seventh of the campaign. At 3:11 of the frame, Marty Flichel ripped a shot that caromed off a body in front before beating Jeff Weber (32 saves). Defenseman Jeremy Mylymok and captain D'Arcy McConvey set up Flichel's 19th of the season. McConvey's assist extended his point-scoring streak to eight games, tying a personal high for the campaign.

At 5:13, the Steelheads made it 3-0 as Garett Bembridge broke an eight-game drought without a goal, slapping a one-timer past Weber for his 36th of the season. Flichel and Scott Burt gathered the assists on Bembridge's fifth game-winner of the season and his 75th point overall, which leads the ECHL.

Kindle's second of the afternoon, at the 8:44 mark, put the Steelheads in front by four. Blake Forsyth got the puck to Kindle who walked into the zone and fired a wrist shot into the back of the net.

The Steelheads four-goal barrage was the seventh time this year they've netted four goals in a period, with the latter three coming on the man advantage. They out-shot the home team, 19-8 in the opening stanza.

Steelheads' rookie center Dan Hacker got the only goal in the second period, with Burt and Kindle getting the helpers. Hacker's fifth of the year came at 5:09 of the stanza.

The Thunder snapped goaltender Steve Silverthorn's bid for a shutout with a marker 3:25 into the third period. Nathan Martz got to Lance Monych's shot that had whistled wide but caromed generously off the end boards behind the Steelheads net. Martz slipped the puck into the empty cage for his 10th of the season. Geno Parrish also drew an assist. Later in the period, the Thunder cut the deficit to 5-2, when Monych walked in on Silverthorn and snapped the puck over his left shoulder for his fourth goal in just three games with the Thunder.

Burt rounded out the scoring with 1:08 left in the contest, blasting his eighth of the season past Weber to make it 6-2. Forsyth and former Thunder defenseman Tony Johnson drew the helpers.

Silverthorn (14-11-1) made 27 stops, earning his second win in as many tries, while Weber lost for the 18th time this season.

The Steelheads continue on the road, taking on the Las Vegas Wranglers from Orleans Arena on Friday, February 24. The puck drops at 8:05 p.m. MST. All the action can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1350 AM, "The Ticket," beginning approximately 20 minutes before the drop of the puck. For tickets, call 208-331-TIXS.
