Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, Idaho¾ As winter approaches and the days and nights get colder across the Treasure Valley, many people will feel the chill more than others. To help combat the chill, the Steelheads are asking everybody coming to the game on Friday night to bring new or gently used coats, jackets, hats, scarves, and/or gloves. Men's, women's and children's items are needed. Warm sweaters will be accepted also.

The items will be collected by the Boise Rescue Mission and distributed to families in need across the Treasure Valley.

"Most of us probably have one or two coats and sweaters in our closets that we haven't worn in a year or two, so now's a good time to do a fall clean and donate them to needy families," said Bonnie Way Snider, Steelheads Foundation director.

Everybody who makes a donation will receive a coupon good for a two-for-one ticket to any Steelheads Wednesday night game during the 2007-08 regular season.

Reverend Bill Roscoe, mission director said, "Last year we gave away over 4,000 coats and winter outer-wear and this year the demand is even greater. We really need the people of the Treasure Valley to help us by donating their good used and new coats for this project."

The Steelheads are home this week to take on the Alaska Aces for a three-game series beginning Wednesday night at Qwest Arena. Tickets are available for all home games by visiting idahosteelheads.com and using the print at home feature, or by calling (208) 331-TIXS or visiting the box office at Qwest Arena.
