Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

COMING UP: The Cincinnati Cyclones return to U.S. Bank Arena for three games this week, looking to move into first place in the North Division. The Cyclones host Wheeling on Wednesday and Augusta on Thursday and Saturday. All three games will faceoff at 7:30pm and all will be carried on the club's website: www.cycloneshockey.com, the pregame show each night begins at 7:15pm.

FAR OUT, MAN: The Cyclones game on Saturday will be 'Throwback Night' to the 1970s era. The team will dress in the WHA's Cincinnati Stingers jerseys that will be auctioned off to the fans, selected concession and merchandise items will be reduced to the era and even the ticket prices will be from the Stingers era (all seats outside the second row are $6 each).

WET AND THIRSTY ARE ALSO THERE...: The Cyclones weeknight promotion with deeply discounted beer will also apply for the Wet Wednesday (Wheeling) game and the Thirsty Thursday (Augusta) contests. Pabst Blue Ribbon twelve ounce beverages will be sold for one dollar each throughout the evening.

WEEK IN REWIND: The Cyclones split their games last week, going 2-2 and moving into sole possession of third place in the North Division. Wednesday (Oct. 31) night, Cincinnati dropped a 5-2 decision at Elmira. Friday night (Nov. 2), the Cyclones rebounded with a 5-1 triumph at Elmira. Mathieu Aubin paced the offense with a goal and an assist. Saturday (Nov. 3), the 'Clones left Reading with a 3-0 blanking. Cedrick Desjardins stopped all 29 shots and Scott Reynolds netted his first two goals of the the season. Sunday (Nov. 4), Dayton took a 3-2 win, as Matt Macdonald had a goal.

NICE SCHEDULE: The Cyclones had a brutal travel schedule this past weekend. After blanking Reading on Saturday, 3-0, the Cyclones loaded up the bus and travelled the 530 miles overnight to Cincinnati for about six hours of sleep before bussing the next 61 to Dayton. The 591 combined miles is the longest overnight journey any team in the ECHL will endure this season.

MILLER HAS ENJOYED HIS TIME: Defenseman Gerard Miller was released from his AHL contract last Monday (Oct. 29) and joined the Cyclones in time for this last roadtrip. Miller had points in all four games, netting two goals and two assists. Gerard has the longest point streak of any Cyclone this season.

DESJARDINS LOVES NOV. 3!: Cyclones goaltender Cedrick Desjardins posted a shutout on Nov. 3 for the second straight season as a pro. Desjardins stopped all 29 shots he faced in the 3-0 blanking at Reading, the home opener for the Royals. It was EXACTLY one year earlier (Nov. 3, 2006) that Cedrick stopped all 27 shots in a 3-0 whitewashing of Dayton.

REYNOLDS A FAN ALSO!: Cyclones left wing Scott Reynolds netted his first two goals of the season at Reading on Saturday night. It was the second two goal game of Reynolds' career and his first since Oct. 21 against Toledo.

THREE IS THE BEST NUMBER...: Four times this season, the Cincinnati Cyclones have scored three or more goals in a game and they have a 4-0 record when this happens. Three times, the club has been held to two or fewer goals. The team is 0-3 when this happens.

YOU CAN KEEP YOUR BUS: The four game road trip endured by the Cyclones last week featured two Zamboni malfunctions (both at morning skates), a flat tire in Pennsylvania and more than 25 hours travelling on a bus. Over the next three weeks, Dayton is the only city the Cyclones will travel to by bus. The next overnight trip for the club comes at the end of the month with games at Johnstown (Nov. 30) and Trenton (Dec. 1).

ROAD WARRIORS: The Cyclones have already claimed three road wins this season, the fourth-most in the ECHL. Last season, Cincinnati did not record its third road win until Dec. 6 and did not have its fourth road win until Dec. 28. The Cyclones were 18-16-2 (.528 winning percentage) away from U.S. Bank Arena last season.

LOCK DOWN: The Cyclones are giving up an average of 26.29 shots per game, the fewest in the ECHL. Cincinnati has held two opponents this season to 20 or fewer shots. The Cyclones have squeezed off more shots than the opponents in five of the seven games played so far.

MORE SHOOTING NEWS: Cincinnati has outshot the opposition, 214-184, so far this season. The Cyclones rank 15th in the ECHL in shots at 30.57 per game. Cincinnati's average of just 26.29 shots per game is the best defensive effort in the league. The disparity of 4.28 shots per game between attempts taken and allowed, is the seventh-best in the league.

JEFFERSON HALL ON MONDAYS: The Cyclones Coaches Show airs every Monday at Jefferson Hall at Newport on the Levee. The show, featuring Head Coach Chuck Weber, takes place every Monday night from 7-8pm and is carried live on SuperTalk FM 96.5. The show is also carried on the station's website: www.suprtalkfm965.com. Tonight, Billy Irish-Baker and Sean Perkins will be a part of the show.

COMEBACK KIDS: The Cyclones have come from behind in two wins this season. Last year, it was not until Nov. 18 (12th game of the season) that Cincinnati had its second comeback win. Last season, Cincinnati rallied from deficits 13 times to win hockey games. Three times, the club was down a pair of goals and bounced back to win.
