Saturday vs. Texas (4-3 Loss)
John McNabb scored two third period goals and Peter Aubry made some key saves down the stretch to stymie an Ice Pilots comeback as Texas defeated Pensacola 4-3 at the Pensacola Civic Center. At 18:43 of the first period, Mathieu Roy scored his team leading fourth goal of the year amidst a flurry around the Texas net and the two teams were tied at two after the first period. After a scoreless second, McNabb struck twice under three minutes apart to give Texas a two goal advantage in the third. The Ice Pilots fought back as Rob Sich netted his first ECHL goal to cut the lead to one. Pensacola had several chances in the final two minutes, but time ran out and Texas held on for the 4-3 win. Shots were even at 32. Dan Sullivan and Riley Emmerson tangled early in the first period. The Ice Pilots continue the four game home stand against Columbia on Tuesday night.
