-SPIKES LOOK TO KEEP ROLLING AGAINST VERMONT: The State College Spikes look for their ninth straight home win as they face the Vermont Lake Monsters to complete a three-game series tonight at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Spikes currently have the best team ERA of all the clubs across Minor League Baseball at 2.46. State College is 5-0 so far this homestand after sweeping the Tri-City ValleyCats. The Spikes are 15-2 in their last 17 home games, and currently lead the NYPL Wild Card race while sitting just two games back of the Pinckney Division lead. State College is 11-10 all-time against Vermont (7-3 at home).

-LAST NIGHT: The Spikes took their third straight Saturday night walk-off win, along with sole possession of first place in the New York-Penn League Wild Card race, as Cesar Valera singled in the tenth inning to give the Spikes a 2-1 win over the Vermont Lake Monsters at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Steven Ramos got the Spikes' last rally going with a leadoff double off of the bag at third base, and Ramos's steal of third put him in prime position to score on Valera's hit. Jimmy Bosco went 4-for-4 on the game with a double, collecting his second four-hit game of the season and providing exactly half of the eight State College hits on the night. Willy Paulino struck out eight batters over six one-run innings, while Jeff Rauh earned the win.

-PETREE GETS THE START FOR THE SPIKES TONIGHT: Right-hander Nick Petree heads to the hill for his eighth pro appearance and seventh start as he gets the ball for State College tonight against the Lake Monsters. Petree went 3 1/3 innings and allowed one unearned run on five hits and two walks while striking out four last time out at Batavia. The Missouri State product and Cardinals ninth-round draft choice in 2013 is making just his second appearance at home this year, and earned his first pro win against Lowell in his last home outing.

-LAKE MONSTERS GO BACK TO WAHL THIS EVENING: Right-hander Bobby Wahl gets the ball for Vermont in tonight's series finale. Wahl was drafted in the fifth round by the Athletics this year out of the University of Mississippi, and has not gone longer than three innings in any appearance this season for the Lake Monsters. The Springfield, VA native lasted just 1 2/3 innings last time out against Lowell, but yielded only two hits and a walk while striking out three.

-RECORD FIVE SPIKES NAMED TO NYPL ALL-STAR GAME: Five Spikes, the most in franchise history, were named today to the New York-Penn League All-Star Game. The game will take place at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, CT on Tuesday, August 13. First baseman David Washington and outfielders Steven Ramos and Ronald Castillo were chosen to start the game, while shortstop Cesar Valera and outfielder Jimmy Bosco were selected as reserves for the NL team.

-SPIKE MARKS: The Spikes' current six-game win streak is their longest of the season...State College now has four walk-off wins on the year...The Spikes' streak of 20 straight scoreless innings as a team ended in the fourth inning last night...Steven Ramos is now second in the NYPL in batting with a .350 average...David Washington is tied for the NYPL lead with 33 RBI...Kevin Herget's five wins are tied for the most in the NYPL
