St. Louis CITY SC defeated Eastern Conference opponents Nashville SC 3-1 on Saturday night at Energizer Park. Jaziel Orozco opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, tallying his first career MLS goal. João Klauss found the back of the net for St. Louis in the 39th minute off a feed from Eduard Löwen to put CITY SC 2-0 up going into halftime. In the second half, newcomer Sangbin Jeong scored his first goal with St. Louis, adding to CITY's lead. Nashville's Hany Mukhtar scored a penalty late in the match, but it wasn't enough to alter the result on the night. Tonight's win improved CITY SC's home record against Eastern Conference opponents to 6-2-2. St. Louis CITY SC heads to SeatGeek Stadium as they face Chicago Fire FC on Saturday, August 16 at 7:30 p.m. CT.
