
St. Cloud Rox Roll over Blue Anchors, 6-1

Alexandria, Minn. - The St. Cloud Rox took to the road Thursday as they traveled to Alexandria to round out their series with the Blue Anchors. The Rox earned the sweep on the series with a 6-1 victory.
Scoring was stagnant till the bottom of the fourth inning when the Blue Anchors took a 1-0 lead over the Rox off a single by Dalton Leuschke.
The Rox would come back though and take a 2-1 lead in the top of the fifth as Daniel Comstock got the bats going with a single. Dustin Breshears also hit a single and then advanced as Devin Pearson reached on a fielder's choice and Comstock scored for the first run of the inning. Tim Colwell was next up reaching first on an error by the first baseman to score Breshears to take the lead.
In the top of the sixth it is Carlos Leal and Blake Headley earning walks and were both brought home on a double by Breshears to take St. Cloud to a 4-1 lead over Alexandria.
The Rox would hold the Blue Anchors to no runs and extended their lead in the top of the ninth. Alex McRae and Pearson were hit by a pitch to put two runners on base, which was followed by Colwell reaching on an error by the second baseman loading the bases. Conor Keniry would also reach on an error to score pinch runner Garrett Fischer, while Leal followed with a sacrifice fly out to center field scoring the Rox sixth run of the game for a 6-1 final.
It was Kyle Fischer starting on the mound for the Rox pitching 6.0 innings to earn the win and improving his record to 2-0 on the season. Reese Gregory relieved Fischer as he pitched 3.0 innings to earn the save.
The Rox (5-4, 5-4 North) will be back in action Friday, June 7th as they host the Waterloo Bucks at Joe Faber Field. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. with an awesome post-game firework show presented by Charter Communications.
St. Cloud will round out their home stint on Saturday with the Waterloo Bucks before hitting the road for a six game stint. At the ballpark on Saturday it is a Rox Baseball Cap Giveaway Night presented by HealthPartners Central Minnesota Clinics with the first 400 fans through the gates receiving the giveaway.
It will also be "Ultimate Saturdays" where if you bring your ticket to the Ultimate Sports Bar & Grill after Saturday's home game you will receive a buy one, get one free drink of your choice (only redeemable the night of the game).
