Sparre headed to Springfield

COLUMBIA, S.C. (Feb. 6, 2008)-Inferno left winger Daniel Sparre has been recalled to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, Inferno head coach and director of hockey operations Troy Mann announced today.

Sparre has 34 points (19 goals, 15 assists) and 40 penalty minutes in 46 games with the Inferno this year, his first with the club. The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder from Brampton, Ontario has 101 points (48 goals, 53 assists) and 118 penalty minutes in 130 career regular-season ECHL games with Charlotte, Texas and Columbia from 2005-06 through 2007-08. He also has 13 points (six goals, seven assists) and 14 penalty minutes in 12 career Kelly Cup playoff games.

Sparre has 13 points (six goals, seven assists) and 14 penalty minutes in 37 career AHL games with the Hartford Wolfpack during the 2005-06 season.

Prior to turning pro, Sparre had 180 points (95 goals, 85 assists) and 186 penalty minutes in 203 career regular season games with Victoriaville and Halifax in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2002-03 through the 2004-05 season. He also had 10 points (two goals, eight assists) and 10 penalty minutes in 17 career QMJHL playoff games.

The Inferno return to the Carolina Coliseum on Friday, Feb. 8 to host the Texas Wildcatters at 7:05 p.m.
