BILOXI, MS - The Cincinnati Cyclones defeated the Mississippi Sea Wolves by the score of 8-3 at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio on Wednesday morning.

David Desharnais scored his first goal of the game, popping in a rebound of A.J. Bozoian's shot to give Cincinnati a 1-0 lead at 9:28 of the first period. At 10:41, the Cyclones scored their first-of-three power play goals in the game when Travis Fuller beat Morgan Cey from point blank range. Billy Irish-Baker's turnaround wrister from the right wing would give Cincinnati a 3-0 and chase Cey from the Mississippi net at 11:21 of the first. At 12:53, with Sea Wolves goaltender Ryan Munce coming out to play the puck, Chad Starling's dump-in from the neutral zone took a kooky bounce off the boards and found the vacant net at 12:53. The Sea Wolves would get on the board at 15:26, when Chris Cava fed a cross-ice pass to Jason Tejchma, who put it over Cincinnati goalie Cedrick Desjardins' glove for his 18th goal of the season.

The Cyclones restored their four-goal lead when Matt Syroczynski popped in the rebound of Desharnais' shot on the power play at 2:05 of the third period to give Cincinnati at 5-1 lead. Just 1:50 later, Chris Cava fed the puck in front of the net to a waiting Lance Monych, who tucked it through Desjardins' legs for his 21st of the season. Mississippi would cut the lead to two when Mike Hartwick scored his second goal in as many games on a slap shot from the top of the left wing circle at 6:06. Desharnais's second goal of the game gave Cincinnati a 6-3 lead on the power play at 14:42 of the second period. Cincinnati would get third period insurance goals from Cory Urquhart and Trevor Wolfe at 15:04.

Morgan Cey made three saves on six shots in 11:21 of action. Ryan Munce made 12 saves on 17 shots in 48:39 of action, taking the loss. The Sea Wolves' power play was 1-for-11, and Mississippi killed off five-of-eight Cincinnati power plays.
