
Rohlfs Returns, Huxley and Geris to IR

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, has announced rookie right wing David Rohlfs (WRALL-fs) has been reassigned to the Thunder from Springfield, while left wing Adam Huxley has been placed on the seven-day injured reserve list and defenseman Ryan Geris has been placed on three-day injured reserve.
Rohlfs has played in 40 games for the Thuunder this season, scoring 17 points (10g-7a) and tallying 24 penalty minutes. The 23-year old was selected in the fifth round (154th overall) by the Oilers in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and spent time in 2007 NHL training camp with the Oilers. Rohlfs, who appeared in two AHL games, was recalled by Springfield on January 30 and made his AHL debut on February 1 at Hartford.
The 6-foot-3, 234-pound right wing spent four years (2003-07) of his college hockey career at national-power University of Michigan (NCAA), helping guide the Wolverines to an NCAA Frozen Four tournament appearance in four consecutive seasons.
Huxley, 24, had successful surgery (elbow bursitis) last weekend and has appeared in 41 games with the Thunder this season, scoring eight points (1g-7a) while leading the team and ranking eighth in the ECHL with 145 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 200-pound left wing received an invite to Edmonton Oilers 2007 training camp, appearing in one game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, a 3-2 overtime win for the Oilers on September 18.
Geris, 26, has appeared in 36 games in his first full professional season this year, scoring eight points (1g-7a) and tallying 34 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound blueliner was signed by the Thunder as a free agent on March 30, 2007 and appeared in all six Kelly Cup Playoff games with the Thunder last season, scoring three points (1g-2a). The Alexandria, Minn. native appeared in the final six regular season games last year, tallying a +4 rating.
The Thunder returns to play on tonight with a 7:00 p.m. home game against the Utah Grizzlies from Stockton Arena. The game can be heard live on radio at 1420-AM KSTN and online (video and audio available) at www.stocktonthunder.com, courtesy of B2 Networks.
