Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that defenseman Jim Jackson has been called up to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League. Jackson becomes the third player from the Gladiators to be called up to Manitoba this season joining Mike Vigilante and Lou Dickenson. Dickenson currently remains with Manitoba.
Jackson became just the 5th player in Gladiators team history to post 50 or more goals in a Gladiators career notching his 50th goal in the Gladiators 8-6 loss to Augusta on January 29th. He currently has 52 career goals with Gwinnett. In addition, Jackson currently ranks first for most games played as a Gladiator having appeared in 225 career games with Gwinnett.
This marks Jackson's second career trip to the American Hockey League. The Marquette, MI native played in one AHL game for the Grand Rapids Griffins least season on February 28th.
In his third season with Gwinnett, after spending the 2005-06 season playing in Germany, Jackson has tallied 10 goals and 4 assists for 14 points in 26 games in Gwinnett this season.
Jackson should be available for the Moose for their 8:05 p.m. start tomorrow night against the Rockford Ice Hogs.
