Sound Tigers Trade Olson to Houston

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (February 24, 2012) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today they have traded defenseman Benn Olson to the Houston Aeros for future considerations.

Olson, 24, appeared in 34 games in the past two seasons with the Sound Tigers, recording one goal and three assists in addition to 152 penalty minutes. The Port McNeil, BC native also appeared in 11 games this season with the Alaska Aces where he posted 46 penalty minutes.

The 6'4, 215-pound defenseman has totaled eight points (one goal, seven assists) and 313 penalty minutes in 80 career AHL games, in addition to 13 points (one goal, 12 assists) and 381 penalty minutes in 109 ECHL contests.

In a separate move, the Sound Tigers also announced they have released defenseman Dallas Jackson from his professional tryout contract (PTO). Jackson, 22, appeared in three games with the Sound Tigers in his first career AHL stint and did not record a point.
