Devils Sign Baier

ALBANY, N.Y. - The Albany Devils have signed defenseman Eric Baier. The announcement was made by Albany General Manager Chris Lamoriello.

Baier, 23, has played 50 games this season with the Trenton Titans of the ECHL. He has registered 16 points with four goals and 12 assists. After completing a four-year career at Providence College, he played three games with the Portland Pirates (AHL) and six games with the Reading Royals (ECHL) at the end of the 2010-11 season.

While at Providence, Baier appeared in 127 games, registering nine goals and 23 points. He was named to the 2009-10 Hockey East All-Academic Team.

Baier, who is 6'2", 210 lbs., was born on Mar. 26, 1988. The right-shooting defenseman hails from North Kingstown, R.I.
