Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - Pierre-Cedric Labrie scored with 30 seconds remaining in regulation, to complete a Norfolk Admirals comeback and help his team defeat the Binghamton Senators 3-2 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena on Friday night.

The B-Sens started out strong as they jumped to a 2-0 nothing first period lead. Mike Hoffman blasted a shot through the slot, beating Norfolk's Dustin Tokarski to put the B-Sens on the board just 1:34 into the opening frame. Rob Klinkhammer would extend the lead with a power play tally at 6:42.

Brandon Segal cut the B-Sens' lead in half just 15 seconds into the second period.

Andre Petersson was awarded a penalty shot at the 8:39 mark of the same period after being taken down on a breakaway, but failed to reclaim Binghamton's two-goal lead as his shot rang off the crossbar.

In the third period, Evan Oberg tied the game, 2-2, at 6:27, beating Mike McKenna with just five seconds remaining on an Admirals power play opportunity. Oberg also assisted on Segal's second period tally, earning two point and first star honors.

Just as it appeared the game would stretch to overtime, Labrie put away the game winner off a rebound with 30 seconds remaining in regulation to claim the victory.

McKenna made his second consecutive start in goal for the B-Sens, falling to 13-16-0 on the season despite putting forth a 36 save effort. Tokarski turned aside 33 shots to improve to 24-11-0.

The B-Sens ended the night 1-for-4 with the man advantage and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.

The B-Sens are back at it tomorrow as they host the Adirondack Phantoms at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are $18.50 for side seating, $17.50 for end seating.
