Aeros lose to Stars

CEDAR PARK, Tex. --- Jon DiSalvatore scored his team-leading 19th goal of the season and Kris Fredheim had his first goal of the season for the Houston Aeros in a 3-2 loss to the Texas Stars Friday at the Cedar Park Center.

Darcy Kuemper made 30 saves and Justin Fontaine had two assists for the Aeros, who are now 25-17-3-9.

DiSalvatore scored a power play goal at 12:18 in the third to get the Aeros within 3-2.

Fredheim scored a power play goal at 8:06 in the second period to cut the Stars' lead to 2-1 before Francis Wathier scored a power play goal at 4:58 in the third to put Texas up 3-1.

Scott Glennie scored at 11:23 of the first period to make it 1-0, and Angelo Esposito scored a power play goal at 1:05 in the second to give Texas a 2-0 lead.

Houston outshot the Stars 41-33, but Tyler Beskorowany made 39 saves for Texas.

The Aeros continue their franchise-record 11-game road trip at the Texas Stars at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Cedar Park Center. The team returns home March 10 against Grand Rapids at 7:35 p.m. at Toyota Center.
