Sound Tigers Roster Shuffle Continues

BRIDGEPORT, CT â The American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the addition of Center Daniel Tkaczuk and Left Wing Mike Souza on loan from the NHL's St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks respectively. The Sound Tigers have also announced the assignment Defensemen J.F. David and Daniel Tetrault to the East Coast Hockey League's Trenton Titans.
Tkaczuk, 23, was the first pick, sixth overall, of the Calgary Flames in the 1997 NHL draft. The 6'1'', 195-pound Toronto, Ontario native posted ten goals, 27 assists, 37 points and 37 penalty minutes in 75 games with the AHL's Worcester IceCats last season. He assisted on the game-tying goal with 3:53 left to play in last night's 1-1 tie on the road versus the Albany River Rats in his Sound Tigers' debut.
Souza, 24, was Chicago's third pick, 67th overall, in the 1997 NHL draft. The 6'1'', 210-pound Wakefield, Massachusetts native has posted two goals, two assists, four points and seven penalty minutes in five games with the AHL's Norfolk Admirals this season. He had 20 goals, 11 assists, 31 points and 58 penalty minutes in 66 games with Norfolk last year.
David has appeared in six games for the Sound Tigers this season while Tetrault has appeared in 11 posting two assists and 12 penalty minutes.
The Sound Tigers will host the Portland Pirates tomorrow at 7:35 p.m. They will visit the Hartford Wolf Pack Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and host the Binghamton Senators Sunday at 5:05 p.m. All games are broadcast live on "The ZONE" FOX Sports Radio 1300 and at www.soundtigers.com. Road games are also broadcast live on WSTC/WNLK 1400/1350 AM.
