
Three-goal first period powers Rampage past Ducks

SAN ANTONIO, TX - Serge Payer's second-period shorthanded goal proved to be the difference, as the San Antonio Rampage held on for a 4-3 victory over the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Thursday at the SBC Center.
Andy Lundbohm, Juraj Kolnik and Mike Green also tallied for the Rampage, who ended a six-game winless streak (0-5-1-0) and won for the first time in three tries at home (1-1-1-0).
Jason, Krog, Tony Martensson and Cory Pecker all scored for the Ducks, who are winless in their last three (0-2-1-0).
Former Duck Chris Mason turned aside 17 shots for San Antonio, which scored three unanswered goals in the first period to gain control of the contest.
Ilja Bryzgalov made 24 saves in the losing effort.
