Rivermen Get Defensemen

Peoria Rivermen News Release


Peoria Rivermen President John Butler announced today that defensemen Chad Starling has been assigned to Peoria by the Worcester IceCats of the American Hockey League. The 6'6", 205 lb. Starling played in only 3 games for the IceCats this season after playing in 66 games last year with the Rivermen.

Head Coach Jason Christie says, "Starling is being sent here to get some playing time. He knows he can play at the AHL level and he'll just have to work hard while he's here."

Starling will be available for Friday's game in Toledo. The Rivermen, with the addition of Starling and Trevor Gillies now have 6 healthy defensemen going into this weekend's games in Toledo and Cincinnati.
