Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins, who lead the North Division and Eastern Conference with their 7-2-2-1 record (17 points), begin their weekend slate of games on Friday night at 7:05 p.m., when they renew one of the AHL's most intense rivalries, with the Hartford Wolf Pack. Both teams are coming off decisive victories. The Bruins, winners of three of their last four games, defeated the Springfield Falcons, 7-3 on Sunday. Hartford skated to an 8-2 win over the St. John's Maple Leafs at home on Wednesday night. Hartford is tied for the East Division lead with its 5-3-2-1 record (13 points).
Providence center Matt Herr and right wing Lee Goren have been pacing the offensive attack as of late. Herr leads the AHL with 9-8-17 totals and has points (5-7-12) in six consecutive games. Herr also leads the AHL with five game-winning goals and is tied for the lead with a +10 rating. Goren was named the Sher-Wood AHL Player of the Week for the period ending November 3 after notching 4-6-10 totals in four games last week, as the Bruins posted a 3-0-0-1 record (seven points). Goren is tied for sixth in AHL scoring with 7-8-15 totals.
