BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, shutout the Philadelphia Phantoms 1-0 at home Wednesday for their sixth straight win, their third in a row at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard. Goaltender Chris Madden also improved his personal winning streak to five games by making 29 saves for his first shutout as a Sound Tiger and the team's first of the season.

The Sound Tigers took the lead on a pretty play as Paul Flache hit Kevin Colley in-stride with a two-zone pass and Colley slipped the puck past Philadelphia netminder Jamie Storr for his fifth goal of the season to make it 1-0 with 2:39 left in the first period. The helper was the third in as many games for Flache. Bruno Gervais also assisted on the play.

After the shots on goal were tied at 17 through the first two periods, the Phantoms had a 12-7 advantage in the final frame but could not come up with the equalizer even after they pulled Storr in favor of an extra attacker inside the final half-minute of play.

Madden was the first star of the game, Colley was the second and Storr was the third with 23 saves. Philadelphia had a 29-24 shots on goal advantage and was 0 for 6 on the power play. The Sound Tigers were 0 for 5 on the power play.

The Sound Tigers will continue a stretch of four games in five days when they visit the Hartford Wolf Pack this Friday at 7 p.m. The Sound Tigers will compete the busy week when they return home to host the Springfield Falcons this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. on "80's Night" and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins this Sunday at 4:05 p.m. on "Honey I Took The Kids Day" and "Norwalk Town Day".
