Verbeek returned to Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have returned right wing Tim Verbeek to the Wheeling Nailers on loan, it was announced Wednesday by team CEO Jeff Barrett.

Verbeek, 26, appeared in two games with the Penguins, recording one assist, four penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating. He was originally recalled by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from Wheeling on November 10.

The 6-0, 195 pound native of Sarnia, Ontario had three points (2+1) and seven penalty minutes in four games with the Nailers this season before being recalled. Verbeek has appeared in 14 American Hockey League games with the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks and Utah Grizzlies prior to this season, recording two points (1+1) and 36 penalty minutes.

Verbeek appeared in 21 games with the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL) last season, posting nine goals and 14 points. He has tallied 144 points (68-77) in 230 ECHL games with Toledo, Roanoke, Idaho and Wheeling during the past five seasons.

The Penguins travel to Norfolk to take on the Admirals this Friday night at 7:15pm, and return home to host the Admirals the following night at 7:05pm. The Penguins then travel to Bridgeport to face the Sound Tigers Sunday afternoon at 4:05pm
