Moose Sign Bayda to PTO

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have signed forward Ryan Bayda to a pro tryout contract.

Bayda, 24, has yet to play a game in 2005-06 while recovering from injury. Last season, the Saskatoon, SK native appeared in all 80 games with the Lowell Lock Monsters of the AHL, scoring 13 goals and 27 assists for 40 points and 91 penalty minutes. In his career, Bayda has played in 170 games in the AHL with Lowell, scoring 32 goals and 75 assists for 107 points and 151 penalty minutes.

Bayda has also played 69 career games in the NHL with the Carolina Hurricanes where he scored seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points and 38 penalty minutes.

Bayda was originally Carolina's third round choice, 80th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
