Wolves Try to Can Hunger

The Chicago Wolves will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable food items to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository at home games on Sat., Nov. 19; Wed., Nov. 23; Sat., Nov. 26; Fri., Dec. 2 and Sat., Dec. 3.

Each person who brings a canned or non-perishable food item to one of the five games will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win lunch with Wolves players Brian Maloney and Travis Roche.

"Through the years, we have been so grateful for the support and generosity of the Chicago Wolves and their tremendous fans," said Ruth Igoe, a spokesperson for the Food Depository, which provides food to more than 91,000 hungry men, women and children every week. "Can by can, pound by pound, every one of us can make a difference in the fight against hunger this holiday season."

Last year, the Wolves collected 715 pounds of food over three home games, which provided 538 meals for those in need. Overall, the team has donated 4,388 pounds of food in the last six years.
