Sound Tigers Announce Four Player Transactions

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Mar. 22, 2011) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced the following player transactions on Tuesday morning: Goaltender Joel Martin has been reassigned to the Odessa Jackalopes of the Central Hockey League, forward Justin Taylor has been returned to ECHL affiliate Kalamazoo, and defenseman Artem Bidlevksii and forward Shayne Neigum have signed amateur tryout contracts (ATOs) with the Sound Tigers.

Martin heads back to Odessa after a two-month stint split between the Sound Tigers and Islanders. The first-year Sound Tiger appeared in 18 games with the Sound Tigers, and also served as Mikko Koskinen's back up with the Islanders for two games. Martin returns to the Jackalopes where he shows a 10-9-0 record this season.

Taylor completes his second stint with the Sound Tigers this season, appearing in nine games after being recalled from Kalamazoo on Feb. 27 and recording no points. Taylor returns to Kalamazoo where he's averaged over a point a game this season, notching 42 points (23 goals, 19 assists) in 41 games for the K-Wings.

Artem Bidlevskii and Shayne Neigum both head to the Sound Tigers from the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League. Bidlevskii, a 6'0", 198-pound defenseman, has appeared in 57 games with the Pats this season, recording nine points (three goals, six assists) and 140 penalty minutes.

Neigum, 20, appeared in 37 games with Regina after being dealt by the Kamloops Blazers earlier in the season. The 5'11", 167-pound forward has combined for 11 goals, six assists, and 196 penalty minutes in 64 WHL contests this season.
