Flyers Recall Syvret

The Philadelphia Flyers have announced that they have recalled defenseman Danny Syvret from the Adirondack Phantoms, according to General Manager Paul Holmgren.

This is Syvret's second call-up to the Flyers. Philadelphia is in action Tuesday night against the Washington Capitals. The 25 year old from Millgrove, Ontario was acquired by the Flyers organization in a late November trade with the Anaheim Ducks. Syvret and Rob Bordson came to the Philadelphia system in exchange for Patrick Maroon and David Laliberte.

Syvret has played in 45 games with Adirondack this year scoring 9 goals and 22 assists. He has also played in eight games with the Syracuse Crunch recording 4 assists and 6 games with the Anaheim Ducks scoring one goal.

In 2009-10, Syvret split time between Adirondack and Philadelphia. He played 21 games with the Flyers scoring two goals and two assists.And he played 15 games with the Phantoms scoring five goals and eight assists. In 2008-09 he scored a career high 57 points including 45 assists with the Philadelphia Phantoms.

Syvret has played in 55 career NHL games with Edmonton, Philadelphia and Anaheim.

The Phantoms open a busy stretch of six games in eight days Tuesday night at the Charlotte Checkers and Wednesday night at the Norfolk Admirals. The Phantoms return home for back to back games Friday and Saturday against Hershey and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
