Solesky, Knights Beat the 'Shrimp 2-1 Saturday

(JACKSONVILLE, FL) -- RHP Chase Solesky tossed six shutout innings to lead the Charlotte Knights to a 2-1 win over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp on Saturday night from 121 Financial Ballpark in Jacksonville, FL. The win was Charlotte's second in as many days against the 'Shrimp.
Solesky (1-8, 6.23) allowed just three hits over his six impressive innings en route to notching his first career Triple-A win. The 25-year-old righty fanned five batters and did not allow a walk in the game five win on Saturday. He was also backed by his offense, which scored two runs on seven hits for the win.
In the top of the third inning, first baseman Xavier Fernández gave the Knights a 1-0 lead with an RBI double off Jacksonville starter Enmanuel De Jesus (4-5, 4.97). One inning later, Fernández drove home Charlotte's second and final run of the game on a sacrifice-fly RBI. Fernández led the way for the Knights with the double and two RBI in Saturday's win.
The Jumbo Shrimp scored a lone run in the bottom of the eighth inning on a solo home run from Charles Leblanc, his 10th of the season. Charlotte reliever Chris Muller allowed the home run. It was Jacksonville's only run of the game. RHP Jordan Leasure got the final three outs in the ninth inning to earn his second save of the season.
The Knights and Jumbo Shrimp will now conclude the six-game series on Sunday night from Jacksonville, FL. First pitch on Sunday is set for 6:35 p.m. from 121 Financial Ballpark.
