JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Charles Leblanc's eighth inning home run was not enough as the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp fell to the Charlotte Knights 2-1 in front of 6,848 fans Saturday night at 121 Financial Ballpark.

After two scoreless frames, Charlotte (48-83, 13-43) took the lead in the third inning. Yolbert Sánchez led off with a single and scored on a double by Xavier Fernández.

The Knights followed suit with another tally in the fourth inning. Erik González and Laz Rivera worked consecutive walks off Jacksonville (63-67, 31-25) starter Enmanuel De Jesus (L, 4-5) and José Rodriguez singled to load the bases. Two batters later, Fernández smacked a sac fly to center, scoring González to give Charlotte a 2-0 lead.

Charlotte starter Chase Solesky (W, 1-8) retired 17 straight batters retired after Jake Mangum's leadoff single in the bottom of the first. However, it took until the eighth inning for Jacksonville to plate their first run. With two outs, Leblanc (10) crushed a solo shot off Knights reliever Chris Muller to cut the deficit in half.
