Vosler, Bats Win Third Straight in Omaha

PAPILLON, NE -- Jason Vosler launched his third home run in four games as the Louisville Bats 68-61) defeated the Omaha Storm Chasers (57-69) by a score of 4-2 on Saturday night at Werner Park.

After three scoreless innings, the Storm Chasers jumped on the board first, scoring one run in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 1-0 lead.

Evan Kravetz (0-1, 4.74) looked strong in his spot start for Louisville, throwing a Triple-A high 3.2 innings, giving up two hits and one unearned run while walking one and striking out three.

Jason Vosler led off the top of the sixth inning with a solo home run over the left field fence to tie the game at 1-1. The homer is Vosler's second in as many games and 17th of the season.

Omaha tacked on another run in the home half of the sixth to retake the lead 2-1.

With two men on in the top of seventh, Jacob Hurtubise laid down a sacrifice bunt, forcing a throwing error by the pitcher that allowed Chuckie Robinson to cross home plate. In the next plate appearance, Miguel Hernandez scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Matt Reynolds before Vosler laced his second hit of the night to bring home one more run to give the Bats a 4-2 lead.

The Storm Chasers attempted a rally in the bottom of the ninth inning, bringing the winning run to the plate, but were unable to make anything of it as Louisville held on to defeat Omaha by a score of 4-2.

Louisville and Omaha will be play the final game of the six-game series tomorrow, Sunday, September 3rd at 3:05 p.m. E.T. Righty Christian Roa (0-3, 6.26) will take the mound for the Bats, facing off against lefty Anthony Veneziano (4-3, 4.30) on the hill for the Storm Chasers.
