Snappers Lose Series Finale in Extras

Jose Lugo gave up an RBI single to pinch-hitter, Abel Nieves, in the bottom of the tenth inning to lose 5-4. The extra inning loss was the fourth of its kind for Beloit this season.

After Cedar Rapids jumped out to a 2-0 lead after six innings, the Snappers exploded in the top of the seventh. RBI's from Chris Parmelee, Steve Singleton, and Allan de San Miguel (2) pushed the Snappers ahead of the Kernels, 4-2.

Cedar Rapids struck back quickly with two runs of their own in the bottom of the seventh inning. The two runs by the Kernels tied the game up at 4-4.

The game would remain tied until the bottom of the tenth inning. With two on and one out, Reliever, Jose Lugo, gave up the game winning RBI single to Kernels' pinch-hitter, Abel Nieves.

The loss dropped the Snappers' second half record to 3-5.

Upcoming Schedule: The Snappers play game one of four with the Clinton LumberKings at Pohlman Field on Friday night at 6:30 pm. Beloit's Brian Kirwan faces off against Clinton's Kasey Kiker.
