Bees Welcome Godin Back from Wilmington

Burlington, IA (June 29, 2007) - RHP Jason Godin returns to the Burlington Bees today and will start on Sunday at Peoria. The Kansas City Royals brought Godin back from high-A Wilmington in the Carolina League after promoting RHP Tyler Chambliss from the Bees to the Blue Rocks on Tuesday, returning the Bees' active roster to the full 25 player limit.

Godin joined the Bees from extended spring training on April 23rd and made seven appearances (four starts) with the Bees. He posted a 1-1 record with a 1.84 ERA and earned one save. In 29.1 innings, he allowed just 18 hits and six runs while walking 12 and striking out 22. He earned his first professional save on May 3rd against Lansing and his first professional win on May 20th against South Bend. He was promoted to Wilmington on May 30th. He made five appearances (four starts) for the Blue Rocks and was 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA. In 22.2 innings, he allowed 32 hits and 18 runs (17 earned) while walking six and striking out ten.

Godin is the second pitcher this year to leave the Bees for Wilmington only to return. Matt Campbell went up June 7th, made one start, won, and returned on May 12th.

The Bees are currently in the middle of an eight-game road swing and will return to Community Field on Tuesday night to start a seven-game home stand with four games against the Beloit Snappers and three against the Clinton LumberKings. The Bees will have post-game fireworks on BOTH July 3rd and 4th sponsored by J&M Displays. Both games will start at 7PM.
