Skyforce Completes Trade with Mad Ants

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired the returning player rights to center Isaiah Hartenstein and a 2020 2nd Round NBA G League Draft pick (via Erie) from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in exchange for center Kavell Bigby-Williams.

Hartenstein, a 7-0, 250-pound center out of Germany, is currently under contract with the Houston Rockets. He was initially drafted by Houston with the 43rd overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Hartenstein has appeared in a total of 51 NBA games (two starts) with the Rockets over the last two seasons while averaging 3.1 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.

While on assignment in the NBA G League, Hartenstein has appeared in 73 games (43 starts) for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers while averaging 14.7 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. This season, he's averaging career-best numbers with 22.7 points, 14.6 rebounds and 4.7 assists in 33.0 minutes across nine G League appearances.

Prior to the 2017 NBA Draft, Hartenstein played for Zalgiris (Lithuania) in both LKL and Euroleague competitions, averaging 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 11.3 points per game in 34 games (six starts) during the 2016-17 season.

The trade is pending completion of a physical.

Sioux Falls takes on the Texas Legends tomorrow, Friday, February 28 in what will be a pivotal Western Conference matchup. The game can be streamed on the NBA G League website starting at 7:30 PM CT.
