Legends Acquire Returning Player Rights to Cory Jefferson

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends have acquired the returning player rights to Cory Jefferson in a trade with the Delaware Blue Coats. In exchange, Texas sends the returning player rights to Xavier Johnson.

Jefferson (6-9, 215, Baylor) was selected in the 2nd round of the 2014 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs and ultimately traded to the Brooklyn Nets. The Killeen native played 50 games with the Nets his rookie season averaging 3.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, in 10.6 minutes per game. Jefferson also spent time in the G League, most recently with the Blue Coats last season, playing 22 games and averaging 9.2 points, 5.1 rebounds.

The former Baylor Bear returns to Texas again having played 10 games for the Legends in the 2017-18 season averaging 12.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks.
