Senators Blow out Curve Early

The Senators scored six runs in the second inning and five more in the third to cruise to a 12-1 win over the Altoona Curve Thursday night at FNB Field. Andrew Stevenson had five hits and scored twice to lead the Senators. Tyler Mapes pitched six innings and had two hits driving in two runs. With the win the Senators won the series, their first home series win since taking three of four from Richmond in mid-July.

On Capitol Hill

Tyler Mapes pitched six inning and earned his sixth win of the year. He struck out seven, walked one, allowed four hits and just one run. The run scored on a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.

Austen Williams, Jhonatan German and Andrew Istler all tossed a scoreless inning in relief.

With the Gavel

Andrew Stevenson went 5-for-5 and scored twice.

David Masters went 3-for-4 with a 2b, 2 RBI and scored twice.

Tres Barrera had two hits and scored three times.

Luis Garcia had two hits, a double and drove in a run.

The Sens went 10-for-19 with runners in scoring position.

Filibusters

- Andrew Stevenson became the first Senator with five hits since he had five hits in a game April 18, 2017, at Hartford.

- The 19 hits for the Sens are a season high.

- For the second time in three games the Senators sent nine men to the plate twice.

The Senators and Richmond Flying Squirrels play game one of a three-game series at The Diamond in Richmond Friday night. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Radio Harrisburg 96.5FM 95.3FM and 1400AM beginning at 6:55 p.m. with the first pitch set for 7:05 p.m.
