HARRISBURG, Pa. - A pair of crooked innings by the Harrisburg Senators resulted in a 12-1 win over the Altoona Curve at FNB Field on Thursday.

In the second and third innings, the Senators (65-57, 23-28) sent nine batters to the plate and came away with their first 11 runs of the night, scoring six in the second and five in the third.

The starter for the Curve (60-62, 24-30), Cody Bolton (Loss, 2-3) threw a scoreless first inning and was removed without recording an out in the second when the first five Harrisburg hitters got on base. Altoona reliever Yeudy Garcia took over for Bolton in the second with the score 3-0 and two runners on base. Two wild pitches and an RBI single by Luis Garcia led to both inherited runners to score along with one additional score. Bolton was responsible for five of the six runs scored in the second inning.

Garcia induced a double play and a strikeout to escape the second but Harrisburg kept scoring in the third. The first six hitter got on base to score three runs prior to a knock-out, two-run single by Adrian Sanchez chased Garcia from the game in the second. He was charged with six runs over 1.2 innings.

Andrew Stevenson led the Senators' 19-hit barrage with a 5-for-5 night that included a walk. Danny Masters reached base four times with three hits, including two doubles, and a walk. Nick Banks also got on base four times with two walks and two singles.

Harrisburg starter Tyler Mapes (Win, 6-6) made Altoona's hole a bit deeper to climb out of with six one-run innings. He struck out seven and walked one. Altoona put a total of three runners in scoring position with four hits total against the right-hander.

Chris Sharpe's lead-off double in the sixth ended the shutout bid by Mapes. Sharpe advanced to third on a deep fly out to right field by Darnell Sweeney and scampered home when Oneil Cruz hit a flied out to deep left-center.

Beau Sulser rescued the Curve pitching staff with 3.1 scoreless innings. He fanned two hitters and also walked Banks twice. Matt Eckelman also worked a scoreless inning during the seventh.

Joel Cesar pitched the eighth and recorded two outs but was removed after a pinch-hit, RBI single by Rhett Wiseman to extend Harrisburg's lead to 12-1. First baseman Jerrick Suiter took over for Cesar and recorded the final out of the eighth on a pop up.

The 11-run loss was the largest losing deficit for the Curve in 2019 after two previous 10-run losses. Harrisburg's 19 hits were also the most allowed by the Curve pitching staff this year.
