
SeaWolves Drop Series Finale in Akron, Guillen Goes 1-for-4

The SeaWolves dropped the final game of the series to the Akron Aeros on Monday night at Canal Park 6-3. The SeaWolves will return home on Thursday night following the Eastern League All-Star break.
Akron struck first against Erie starter Brooks Brown in the bottom of the third. Juan Diaz led off with a bloop single to left and Beau Mills followed with a two-run home, his seventh, for a 2-0 Akron edge.
The Aeros added to the lead in the fifth. With one out, Diaz, Mills and Chun Chen singled loading the bases. Nick Weglarz drew a walk making it 3-0 Akron. Raul Padron singled home Mills and Chen scored on an error and the Aeros grabbed a 5-0 lead.
Erie closed the gap in the top of the sixth inning against Akron starter Joe Gardner. With two outs, Bryan Pounds tripled for the first time this season and scored on a Rawley Bishop base hit. Audy Ciriaco followed with a single putting two on for Michael Bertram. Bertram doubled home both Bishop and Ciriaco making it a 5-3 game.
Akron added a run against reliever Austin Wood in the bottom of the sixth. Ben Copeland singled with one out and scored on a two-out Mills single to left making it 6-3. The SeaWolves would get no closer, falling by a 6-3 final.
Guillen finished the day going 1-for-4 with a single on his rehab assignment
Brown (1-4) took the loss for Erie allowing five runs, four earned, on seven hits with three walks and four strikeouts in five innings of work.
Erie finished the eight-game road trip 1-7.
The SeaWolves are off on Tuesday and Wednesday and return home on Thursday, beginning a four-game series with the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates)...7:05 First Pitch.
