
SeaWolves announce 2009 home schedule

(Erie, PA) - The 2008 season is rapidly coming to a close with just four games remaining. Today, the SeaWolves are pleased to announce their 2009 home schedule.
The 'Wolves begin the 2009 campaign on April 8 as they open up the 15th season of SeaWolves baseball at Jerry Uht Park against the divisional rival Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in a four-game series.
The 2009 schedule features nine Monday BUCK NIGHTS (Two in April, two in May, one in June, two in July and two in August). The 'Wolves will play 11 weekend home series with 12 Friday games, 11 Saturday games and 10 Sunday games.
The 2009 Eastern League All-Star break is July 14-15 and the host city for the annual EL mid-summer classic is Trenton.
The 'Wolves will play 15 games each against rival's Akron (Cleveland Indians) and Altoona (Pirates). Erie hosts Bowie (Baltimore Orioles) nine times Harrisburg (Washington Nationals) seven times and Reading (Philadelphia Phillies) six times.
The Northern Division portion of the home schedule features three games each against Binghamton (New York Mets), Connecticut (San Francisco Giants), New Britain (Minnesota Twins), New Hampshire (Toronto Blue Jays) Portland (Boston Red Sox) and four games against Trenton (New York Yankees).
2009 also marks the first time since 2003 that the SeaWolves will not end the season at home with the final game of the home schedule on August 31.
