Baysox, Senators Postponed By Rain

(Harrisburg, PA) - The game scheduled for Friday night between the Baysox and Senators was postponed due to heavy rain. The contest will be made up as the first half of a doubleheader Saturday. The first game will being at 5:05 p.m. and each game will last seven innings in accordance with Minor League Baseball rules.

These will be the first two games in the final series of the 2008 regular season. The Baysox have clinched home field advantage in the first series of the playoffs by winning the Southern Division title Thursday. The Baysox will host games 1 and 2 of the best-of-five series against the Akron Aeros Wednesday, September 3 and Thursday, September 4 with each game starting at 7:05 p.m. The teams will then head to Akron for game 3 and possibly game 4. Should a fifth and decisive game be necessary, it would be played back in Bowie on Sunday, September 7.

The Bowie Baysox are out to Beat The Streaks in their 16th season as the "AA" affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. The Baysox have not reached the postseason since 1997 and have never reached the Eastern League Championship.
