
Sawyer Reassigned to Fresno

Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliates Mark Bernard announced on Wednesday that defenseman J.C. Sawyer was reassigned to the Fresno Falcons (ECHL) from the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.
Sawyer, 22, is playing in his second season at the professional level. Originally a fifth round (#161 overall) draft pick of the Minnesota Wild in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Sawyer skated in 14 games with the IceHogs this season scoring three goals and chipping in an assist.
The Saint John, New Brunswick native appeared in four games with the IceHogs during his rookie season in 2007-08. Sawyer also played with the Pensacola Ice Pilots (ECHL) last season accumulating 7g-25a-32pts in 65 games, marking the most points among all Pensacola defenseman.

Thursday and Saturday mark the final games in which IceHogs fans can participate in the IceHogs "Toys For Tots" toy drive. Every fan that brings a new toy to the MetroCentre and donates it to "Toys For Tots," they will receive $4 off their ticket purchase for that night's game. On Thursday the IceHogs face-off against the Iowa Chops before battling the Chicago Wolves on Saturday.
On Saturday the IceHogs are hosting their ninth annual Teddy Bear Toss Night for charity. Stuffed animals are excluded from the "Toys For Tots" drive on Saturday night.

Next Home Game: Thursday, Dec. 11 vs. Iowa Chops: Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. The Rockford IceHogs return from a brief weekend road swing to face the Iowa Chops for the third time in 2008-09 and the first of three meetings in December. One lucky fan will win a pair of tickets to the Winter Classic game at Wrigley Field. Also, Harlem Globetrotters tickets will be given away throughout the night along with three pairs of Blackhawks tickets to Chicago's game on Sunday, Dec. 14 against Columbus. MembersAlliance Credit Union will be celebrating their 70th Anniversary as well.
