December 10, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Abbotsford Heat News Release

A third period goal by former NHL Jed Ortmeyer pushed the Admirals to a 5-3 win on Wednesday night at the i wireless Center. All three Flames goals were scored in a wild second period. Gord Baldwin netted his first professional goal early in the frame before Jamie Lundmark and Kyle Greentree scored on the power play. The Greentree tally extended his goal-scoring streak to a franchise record five games.

Milwaukee jumped in front at 12:34 of the first period when Nick Spaling scored the only goal of the opening frame. Spaling cruised into the slot and fire a shot past Flames netminder Matt Keetley to give the Admirals a 1-0 edge. Milwaukee carried the lead into the first period despite being outshot 10-5 by the Flames.

A wild second period began with another Nick Spaling goal just 71 seconds into the period. The Flames got on the board just 1:58 later when Brad Cole scored on a shot through traffic that eluded Milwaukee netminder Drew MacIntyre. At 11:15 of the middle frame, Mike Santorelli scored on the power play to extend his goal-scoring streak to seven games. The Flames fought back by converting twice during a double-minor power-play. Jamie Lundmark netted his seventh goal of the season after receiving a goal-mouth feed from Kyle Greentree at 12:31 of the period. Greentree netted a goal of his own just 44 seconds later during a Flames man advantage. Greentree's goal tied Krys Kolanos' franchise record for most consecutive games with a goal at five. The tally also tied the game at three.

The Admirals secure the victory thanks for a goal by Joel Ortmeyer with 8:12 left in regulation. Ortmeyer's goal came off a one-timer following a feed from the wall by Andreas Thuresson. Ryan Jones scored an empty netter to insure the win by a final of 5-3.
